What is Klipbokkop?
Klipbokkop is a controlled environment designed for drivers to test and perfect their driving skills. International and local clients are exposed to Goodyear's Wrangler Range where it is tested in the most extreme terrains, differing from large sand dunes, rocks, mud and a natural skidpan. The 4x4 Eco Challenge was initiated by the Goodyear Serious Freedom 4x4 Academy at Klipbokkop and, with sponsorship from Goodyear SA, has grown into an internationally-recognised event regarded as the biggest of its kind in the world.
Goodyear's Wrangler range of recreational tyres enjoys the largest original equipment (OE) fitment amongst local manufacturers in South Africa with the hugely popular RT/SA. The Goodyear Wrangler is the most popular brand of recreational tyre in the country.
Goodyear has donated a Toyota 4x4 Double Cab to a team of scientists in the Kruger National Park, to assist them in a research project aimed at Bovine Tuberculosis.
Klipbokkop,the official Goodyear SA 4 x 4 training ground, is the largest off-road tyre testing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and enjoys international tyre testing status in the world-wide Goodyear organisation.
