Geneva, Switzerland, February 28, 2006 - In racing, time is the enemy. When America's most successful racing organization, the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) asked Goodyear to assist in leveling the playing field for the NASCAR competitors, Goodyear responded with a new time-saving solution - a tiny Radio Frequency Identification chip (RFID), which tracks each tyre from the manufacturing facility to the track, through distribution to the teams and upon its return after the race.
