These four new sizes, which will be introduced during the first quarter of 2009, are already fitted to a wide range of tractors in today's market place; their introduction allows more operators of high power tractors to take advantage of the performance improvements provided by the OPTITRAC R+ range.
The OPTITRAC R+ range can carry up to 31% more load, and generate significantly higher traction than standard tyres and can also operate at speeds up to 50 mph. OPTITRAC R+ is suitable for on-road driving at field tyre inflation levels and widens the performance spectrum while maintaining conventional tyre widths. R+ converts more machine power into traction and is therefore ready for the next generation of powerful, high-speed tractors. The R+ is an extension of the successful Goodyear OPTITRAC family which has been extremely popular with European farmers over the last nine years.
OPTITRAC R+ achieves increased performance levels through the use of new tyre materials, a stronger carcass and the Aero Tie-in bead concept derived from Goodyear's aircraft tyres. Aero Tie-in ensures that the OPTITRAC R+ can transmit high torque and provide increased traction whilst staying securely anchored to the rim, even with smaller rim diameters.
OPTITRAC R+ has already been approved by several tractor manufacturers including John Deere, Claas, Fendt and Massey Ferguson. Testing is continuing with these and other manufacturers to increase the availability of OPTITRAC R+ tyres on new machines.
The 6 rear and 7 front size line up of the OPTITRAC R+ range allows for many different front and rear combinations; the chart shown below illustrates some of the popular combinations currently fitted to high horsepower tractors.
