Goodyear IT620T – Next generation radial industrial tele-handler tyre

24/03/2009

Goodyear announces a new range of durable radial industrial tyres with better traction and steering performance.

IT620T is a new generation of the well established IT520 and the suffix T stands for tele-handler or telescopic handler for which it is primarily developed. The first size available in this new range is 460/70R24.

IT620T is made for the growing number of modern, sophisticated tele-handlers in the private or rental market. The tyre is designed for modern, stronger tele-handlers with higher boom reach and increased lift capacity operating on a variety of surfaces such as soft muddy soil, grass, stones, or hard concrete.

IT620T has several new features that provide tyre performance benefits to the operators of these machines including:
• a new agricultural type tread lug shape and profile for better traction and self cleaning in soft soils
• a reinforced centre tread section for better steering and durability on hard surfaces
• a flatter and wider tread improving machine stability when the boom is fully extended or at high platform or bucket loads.

In addition the tyre features a new distinctive sidewall and shoulder design which enhances the appearance of both tyre and machine.

Herman Vereecken Goodyear's Marketing Director for Farm and Industrial tyres in Europe said "We have found that more and more of these telehandler machines are being used for a wider range of applications. New models are much more versatile with a variety of pallet forks, lift tables and bucket types often replacing the traditional crane applications. Some tele-handlers even feature a rear linkage that allows the attachment of implements such as ploughs. This versatility and variety puts new demands on the tyres fitted to these machines and we have developed the new Goodyear IT620T to meet the performance requirements of this new generation of telehandlers."

The Goodyear IT610T range will be gradually extended in more dimensions and load capabilities
