Goodyear makes the first off-the-road tire: the Rut-Proof Tire.
1924
Goodyear acquires Zeppelin patents to construct the first rigid airships in the U.S.
1926
With sales exceeding $230,000, Goodyear becomes the world's largest tire and rubber company.
1927
First all-weather tread design with riding ribs for passenger vehicles.
Goodyear Engineered Products enters the brake hose business.
Wolverhampton, England becomes Goodyear's first European manufacturing plant.
1928
Goodyear is awarded the U.S. Navy contract to build the rigid airships Macon and Akron.
1929
Construction started on the first rigid airship (Goodyear Zeppelin).
Goodyear constructs the world's largest airship dock in Akron, Ohio.
